I'm getting an error. What should I do?
When entering orders, you may have errors at times. Below are some common messages and actions that should be taken:
ReIndex - If you receive one of the following messages, there is a problem with your index. Select the Maintenance Tab (main screen of software). Select ReIndex.
- Could Not Find Record - This usually means there is a problem with one of the indexes.
- You receive an error with "index" in it.
- Data appears to be missing or is duplicated.
Key Violation - This means that you are attempting to add a transaction that already exists. You must CLOSE the software immediately. Re-open the software.
Customer Orders - Adding an item twice to the same order.
- If a customer purchased 2 of the same item, one at full price and one at a discounted price, enter the discounted item first.
- If a customer purchased 2 of the same item, one from your table (Sold From Kit) and one as a normal sale, enter the first item with a different retail amount (changing the retail by $.01 will solve the problem.)
- If the hostess entered 2 of the same item, one as hostess free and one as hostess 1/2 price, you have 2 choices. Enter the hostess 1/2 price item first, then enter the hostess free. You may also enter both items as hostess free by simply changing the quantity to 2. Use the Calc Hostess 1/2 button to determine the best choice of 1/2 price items.
Downline Tree (data entry tab). If you attempt to add a Jeweler that has been added, you will get a key violation.
- Before adding a jeweler, check to see if the Jeweler is listed. Click Display Inactive. Look for the Jeweler. Check her status. If it is "Inactive", she will not appear on reports.
Access Violation - This may be caused by an abnormal function or an abnormal exit. It could happen if you had an interruption from the internet, a virus scan, printer problem, etc.
- If you get the message, close the program immediately. If the program does not close, you may need to hold down your Ctrl and Alt Keys and hit the Delete Key ONE time to end the task. (You may lose the data you were entering).
- After closing the software, close all other programs and RE-START your computer.
- After restarting the computer, open the software.
- If you continue to get this error, please contact us. We will need to review your data.
Not a Valid Date - If you get this error, check the Regional Setttings in your Control Panel. They must be set to "English - United States". The Short date format must be set to “M/D/YYYY”.
Corrupt File - Contact us Immediately. We may be able to locate a backup of your data on your computer and restore it.
