Our Founder
Rudolph B. Hood, CPA
Rudy joined the United States Navy August 1942 and was commissioned an Ensign and Naval Aviator November 1943. He joined Air Group Six and flew torpedo bombers off the carrier U.S.S. Hancock in the South Pacific until the end of World War II. After four years in the Navy, he went to University of Houston. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1948.
After working for nine years, he started his own bookkeeping and tax practice helping small businesses and individuals become more profitable through sound business advice and up-to-date tax strategies. Rudy graduated to heaven on August 12, 2019.

Our History
Rudolph (Rudy) B Hood began his bookkeeping and tax service in 1958. He gained his CPA license in 1977 and formed Rudolph B Hood, Inc. PC. In 1985, Rudy’s son-in-law F Glenn House joined him as a bookkeeper and tax return preparer. Glenn earned his CPA designation in 1990.
At that time, Rudy made Glenn a 50% partner in the accounting firm and the name was changed to Hood & House, Inc. PC. Glenn also began writing accounting software special applications in 1990 and in 2007, Hood & House Software LP was established.
Rudy retired the first time in 1995, but after a few weeks decided retirement wasn’t for him and returned to the office – working until he was 92 years old in 2018. Glenn’s son Cliff (who has worked for the company off and on his whole life) earned his Enrolled Agent designation in 2021 and began learning the trade. In June of 2021, he joined the business in a fulltime capacity. In November of 2021, Glenn had a major stroke caused by an aneurism in his brain. Because of this and other subsequent health issues, Cliff has taken over running the company. In order to continue serving our clients well, we have brought on another very experienced EA. Shannon Dies joined the team in December of 2021, and he continues to play a vital role in serving our clients and mentoring Cliff in the business.
